Taste Gym ("we", "us") is operated by Comora Pty Ltd (New South Wales, Australia). This policy explains what we collect, what we do not, and how we handle data.

The short version

  • Taste Gym does not require an account to start training.
  • Your training data is stored on your device by default.
  • If you enable cloud backup, we store your email address and training data in our cloud database.
  • We do not sell personal information.

Information we collect

1) Data you create in the app

Taste Gym stores things like:

  • set results and history
  • Atlas progress
  • streaks and related stats

By default, this data is stored locally on your device.

Cloud Backup (optional): If you enable cloud backup, we store your training history and Atlas progress in our cloud database so you can restore it on a new device. You can disable or delete cloud backup at any time from within the app.

2) Account information (if you enable backup)

If you enable cloud backup, we collect:

  • Email address (used for magic link authentication; we send you a sign-in link instead of a password)
  • Training data (your set history, Atlas progress, and related stats)

Apple Sign-In: If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive:

  • Your Apple ID email address (or a private relay email if you choose "Hide My Email")
  • Your name (only if you choose to share it)

We use this information only for authentication and to provide the backup service.

3) Diagnostics and basic usage signals

We collect limited diagnostic and usage information to help the app run well, including:

  • Basic feature usage (e.g., which screens you visit, sets completed)
  • Performance signals

This data helps us understand how the app is used, improve stability, and fix bugs. We aim to keep this data minimal and non-identifying where we can.

4) Notifications

If you enable notifications, we send reminders you request (for example, daily set reminders or late rescue nudges). Notification permissions are controlled in iOS Settings.

5) Website

If you visit tastegym.com, standard server logs may record basic technical information (like IP address and user agent) for security and performance. If you contact us, we will receive whatever you send (like your email and message).

What we do not collect

Taste Gym does not:

  • access your contacts
  • access your photos or camera
  • collect precise location
  • collect advertising identifiers for tracking
  • run third-party ads

How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide and improve Taste Gym
  • provide cloud backup and restore functionality
  • authenticate your account (if backup is enabled)
  • send transactional emails (like magic link sign-in)
  • troubleshoot issues and improve performance
  • respond to support requests

Third-party services

Your data may be processed by:

  • Supabase Inc. (supabase.com), cloud infrastructure for authentication and data storage (if you enable backup)
  • PostHog Inc. (posthog.com), analytics to understand feature usage and improve the app

These providers are required to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us. Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your information.

We may share limited information with service providers only when needed to run the app or website (for example, hosting, authentication, or crash reporting). If we do, they are required to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

Data retention

Local data: App data stored on your device is under your control. To remove it, delete the app from your device.

Cloud backup data: If you enable backup, your data is retained until you delete it. You can delete your cloud data by:

  • Using the "Delete Backup" option in the app settings, or
  • Contacting us at support@tastegym.com

Support communications: If you contact support, we may retain your message and our replies for support and record-keeping.

Your choices and rights

  • Notifications: enable or disable in iOS Settings.
  • Local app data: uninstalling the app removes locally stored data.
  • Cloud backup: enable, disable, or delete from within the app settings.
  • Data deletion: to delete your cloud data, use the in-app option or contact support@tastegym.com.
  • Support: you can ask questions or request deletion of support emails by contacting us.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure authentication. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Children

Taste Gym is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If we change how we collect or use data, we will update this policy and change the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website.
